Teeth Whitening
As time passes, you may notice that your teeth are no longer as white as they used to be. They’ll get stained due to years of drinking coffee, red wine, tea, and tobacco. Certain medications may also cause your teeth to become gray.
If you want to whiten your teeth, our office provides highly effective teeth whitening procedures.
In-Office Teeth Whitening
This is best for those who want quick results. If you have a wedding to attend or an important job interview in a few days, this option is for you. It is also effective against heavily stained teeth caused by medications such as tetracycline.
The dentist starts the procedure by first applying a protective cream over the gums and other soft tissues in your mouth. The whitening gel is applied to the stained teeth, and then the dentist uses laser to accelerate the whitening process. It’s a fairly quick procedure, but depending on the severity of the stain, it may take more than a single visit.
At-Home Teeth Whitening
For a more gradual whitening process, we can recommend an at-home teeth whitening kit, which you can apply by yourself. At-home teeth whitening will take about 10 to 15 treatments, depending on how white you want your teeth to be.
The kit uses a 10% carbamide peroxide solution along with a custom-made mouth guard to ensure that the solution is in continuous contact with the teeth enamel. Once your teeth are sufficiently white, you may do touch-ups once or twice a year to maintain it.
