Many people dislike the thought of wearing braces. Teens are afraid of getting teased in school, and adults generally think that the braces can pose a challenge to their career and social life. Fortunately, there’s Invisalign.
Invisalign is a type of “invisible” braces and are comprised of clear aligners. They’re removed as well. These special aligners straighten the teeth gradually week after week. Invisalign offers several key advantages that you don’t get from standard braces:
- Since they’re invisible, you don’t have to wear about being seen wearing “braces.”
- The aligners do not have protruding bands or wires that can irritate the mouth.
- When eating, you can remove your braces so that you won’t have to worry about food bits getting stuck in your braces. Just make sure you put them back afterwards.
- They’re very comfortable to wear.
The standard Invisalign treatment lasts for about a year, although it can vary for each patient. You may be required to use anywhere from 18 to 30 aligners throughout the course of your treatment, and you will need to see your dentist every few weeks so your progress can be monitored and also so that you will be given new sets of aligners.
